Dave Albo has been an attorney trying cases in Virginia's state and federal courts for fifteen years. He is a trial attorney in the true sense of the word. He has tried numerous jury trials, hundreds of bench trials, and too many motions to count! Dave Albo is the co-founder of Albo & Oblon, which is presently one of the fastest growing firms in Northern Virginia. It is a full service law firm, with its largest portion of practice in criminal/traffic litigation and employment law.
Mr. Albo grew up in Northern Virginia. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. degree in Economics in 1984, and from the University of Richmond with his Juris Doctor (law) degree in 1988.
In the past, Mr. Albo:
- Served as Prosecutor for the City of Fairfax Virginia from 1990 - 1994.
- Served as a Court Appointed Defense Counsel in numerous federal and state cases in Northern Virginia.
- Argued cases before the Virginia Supreme Court, the State Court of Appeals and the Federal 4th Circuit Court of Appeals numerous times.
- Has tried numerous jury trials and hundreds of bench trials in his 15 years of practice.
- Appeared on national cable television as a legal expert and commentator.
Mr. Albo also serves as a Delegate to the Virginia General Assembly, having first been elected in 1993. The General Assembly is a part-time legislative body. Delegate Albo, a Republican, is presently serving in his 5th Term. He represents the Southern tip of Fairfax County, which has the distinction of previously being George Mason's seat in the legislature. Delegate Albo serves on the Courts of Justice Committee and is the Chairman of the Criminal Law Sub-committee. Thus, he is on the front line of drafting all the criminal statutes in Virginia. Delegate Albo also serves on the General Laws and Agriculture, Chesapeake & Natural Resources Committees.
